Visit

Guernsey's Stately Home

Sausmarez Manor is located in Sausmarez Road, in the Parish of St. Martin on the island of Guernsey.

By Car

We have ample free parking facilities.

By Taxi

There are two taxi ranks in the town area. One next to the Town Church - at the end of the pier, cross the road, turn right and walk to the right of the church (200 yards from terminal). The other is along the seafront (250 yards from Bus terminal), just next to the roundabout.

For your return journey, you can ask the shop, tearoom or office to book a taxi for you. Fares are around £12 only (approx $15 / €15 a trip).

By Bus

We're on a number of main bus routes: 81 and 91, 92, 93, 94, 95. There are up to 3 buses per hour that pass by the Manor, depending on the route. When you enter the bus, ask the driver to confirm the route includes the Manor, just in case there are any roadworks or changes to the usual route. Expect the journey to take about 7-10 minutes from the town terminus. Visit buses.gg for timetable information.

Walking

It is a pleasant walk along the Coast Path, where you can turn inland at Fermain Bay, then left when you get to the main road; or the inland route walking up Hauteville Road past Victor Hugo's House and straight on. It will take around 1.5 - 2 hours. It is all uphill so not recommended for anybody but the fittest. The return is gentler and an hour by road (turn left at the gate and straight on) or via cliff path which will take 2 - 2.5 hours. Utterly lovely but again only for the unhurried and fit as it is very up and down on a good path.

By Bicycle

We are only a few minutes from town and have bike parking facilities

Information ahead of your visit

Dogs

To give the wildlife that live at the Manor a peaceful and safe environment, we do not allow dogs on the premises. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Wheelchair Access

The majority of the Manor grounds are accessible by wheelchair but can be difficult during and following wet weather. If joining a House Tour, a flight of steps must be taken to access and exit the Manor - shown in the photo of the house on our Home page.

The Tea Room is accessible as well as The Barn Gift Shop with assistance. Please get in touch with us and we can help plan your visit to suit your needs.
